Adventure in Lake Placid

So our final stop along the Adirondack Trail is the Lake Placid area. What fun the past two days have brought us! After setting up camp in Wilmington at North Pole Resort, we headed to nearby Whiteface Mointain and the Veterans Memorial Highway to the summit. Little did we know what was in store for us at the top! A trail to the top that was mostly rock "steps" with sections of 40 mph winds but breath taking views, it was a challenge we had to complete. The pics tell the story.

Day 2 involved visits to the Olympic venues in Lake Placid. It was breathtaking to ride the elevator to the top of the highest ski jump! Even with my claustrophobia, I could do it because of the glass providing views all the way to the top!

We also visited the ice skating rink, home of the "Miracle on Ice" and the Olympic Museum. It was a great day!
