Maine Lobster and Acadia

October 8 and 9 were the beginning of our Maine adventure. We loved Bar Harbor and exploring nearby fishing communities. We ate dinner at the West Street Cafe both evenings. Bob and Vicki thoroughly enjoyed their lobster while Tom and I enjoyed beef. Great place to shop, which Vicki and I made the most of.

Sunday we woke up to rain but could not let that stop our tour of Acadia NP. We took the loop road through the park, stopping at several of the scenic spots, but the weather just did not cooperate eliminating the beauty of the views. We did explore Sand Beach hoping to find some Maine seaglass. Bob found one "finished" piece of white.

I decided the last time we were here that I missed out by not trying to buy a lobster buoy. So this time we began the search in earnest. I bought a couple artist "replicas" at a gift shop, but Bob was determined to find an authentic one. We pulled into an antique shop and BINGO! So we take home three lobster buoys with one being the real deal!

On the 10th we headed to Freeport to do some shopping at LL Bean. I'd love to spend more time in this area but we must move on in order to get Vicki and Tom back to work on time. So it's onto the Boston area tomorrow.
