A Bear and Costly Gas Stop!

We traveled about 250 miles today-doesn't sound like much, but with road construction and multiple slow downs, you can't expect to go too far.

It was pretty exciting  to see our first bear today, ambling across the road right in front of us! I wasn't quick enough to point the camera but I am certain there will be more!

We saw a forest fire still smoldering, beautiful wild flowers and several rv'ers making the trek to Alaska. It's a good idea to pull in a campsite by 3:00 in order to get a spot. There are "caravans"- groups of rv'ers traveling together, with a guide, that often pull in ands take up several sites.

Poor gas mileage is the name of the game you play pulling your "home" behind you. We got a little worried and pulled in at a spot for a fill up. We had to watch a video on how to pump the gas, use our card and do it all safely. It took several trials, but we finally managed to get the card approved and fill up. I will NOT tell you how expensive that stop turned out to be!

Enjoy our photos from today's travels! We will be off the grid for the next couple of days-catch you all later!
